Daniele Occhiato is an italian bird photographer, living in Florence, Tuscany where he takes most of his photographs when he’s not on a bird-trip abroad.
Started as a simple birdwatcher as a teenager, he then become more and more interested in bird identification and ornithology.
A bird photographer since almost thirty years, he is specialized in the birds of the Western Palearctic; his aim is to try to photograph as many species as possible,
both as portraits and in action, under the best light and background possible, without sacrificing the artistic aspect of the photography.
His pictures has been published in countless bird magazines and books, including the monumental ‘’Handbook of Western Palearctic Birds’’ by Shirihai & Svensson, of which he was the main photographer, and he collaborate with the dutch agencies Buiteen-Beeld and Agami and the swiss agency Vogelwarte since many years.
